These stunning chunky merino knit throws are handmade in Sweden using giant sized knitting needles and are exclusive to Immy and Indi in Australia.

If you have never felt a merino wool blanket before, they are absolutely beautiful - they feel incredibly soft - a similar texture and feel to cotton wool - like wrapping yourself in a cloud.

Why Choose a Fru Nordstrom Chunky Knit Blanket?

Due to their popularity, over the past year a lot of companies have started making merino chunky knit throws.  You will notice a big difference in the way these throws are priced if you have being doing your research.

Our throws are priced based on the additional hours taken to make the blanket so that there is minimal pilling to the wool and so that they last long term.  All Fru Nordstrom throws undergo a "felting" process to the wool which prevents the amount pilling to the blanket when it is used. This process doubles the time it takes to make the blanket, but is a necessary step if you want the blanket to last a long time with regular use.  Our blankets are an investment piece that will last you for many years to come.

Blankets that have not been felted will:

  • shed a lot
  • not last long term
  • not suitable for use other than as a decorative item
  • pill excessively even with the gentlest of uses
  • change in structure and aesthetic once washed (even with dry cleaning)
